Who Is Eligible?
This program is designed for early-career researchers. To qualify, you must meet one of the following academic criteria:
- Postdoctoral Scholars: You must have obtained your doctoral degree at a university outside Japan within six years of the fellowship start date.
- Doctoral Students: You must be currently enrolled in a doctoral course outside Japan and scheduled to receive your Ph.D. within two years of starting the research in Japan.
- Experienced Researchers: Persons who have engaged in continuous research for at least three years at a university or research institution in an eligible country are also eligible (must have an excellent research record).
Note: Researchers must be from a country with diplomatic relations with Japan (or from Taiwan/Palestine).
